All about Iron Smoke distillery
Iron Smoke Distillery is a craft distillery situated in Upstate New York, just off of Main Street, in a craft distilling community where they grow
a lot of apples.
Naturally, this local crop has an impact on the Spirits produced in this area, and Iron Smoke product is a
prime example of this.
Currently, the distillery produces four core products in the Iron Smoke family —
Iron Smoke Straight Bourbon Whiskey,
Iron Smoke Casket Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey,
Rattlesnake Rosie’s Apple Pie Whiskey, and
Rattlesnake Rosie's Maple Bacon Whiskey.
Iron Smoke distillery was founded in
2011 by musician
Tommy Brunett along with partners
Ron Kirshner and
Steve Brown. What started off as
experimenting in Brunett’s backyard with corn
Whiskey and charred apple chunks, ended with the Iron Smoke Spirit that is known today.
Fast-forward to a few years later, and the Iron Smoke facility is now home to a
30-foot smoker, boasting 70 tons of grain storage in their grain silos (affectionately dubbed “Whiskey missiles”) within the former American Can Factory.
Generations of local,
family-owned farming experience ensure every batch of Iron Smoke is crafted from the
highest quality grain.
Their applewood smoking process gives their Whiskey its
unforgettable character. After a few days of fermentation, the mash is twice distilled through copper pot stills, ensuring a
high-quality, pure Spirit.
The raw Spirit is left to
age in triple charred virgin American white oak barrels, imparting deep complex flavors onto the Whiskey.
