Iron Smoke Distillery has done it again with a bacon and maple infused Whiskey wonder.
Iron Smoke Distillery is a fairly new addition to the craft distilling community located in Upstate New York. In that part of the state they grow a lot of apples. So it is only natural that this local crop would have an impact on the spirits they produce. Currently, there are four products in the Iron Smoke family — Iron Smoke Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Iron Smoke Casket Strength, Rattlesnake Rosie's Apple Pie Whiskey and Rattlesnake Rosie’s Maple Bacon Whiskey.
Iron Smoke Distillery likes to tinker. If you remember, a few years ago they came out with Rattlesnake Rosie’s Apple pie Whiskey — basically their signature Bourbon infused with apple cider and spices. Well, that as a HUGE hit. So, they tried to think of another fantastic combination and came up with Rattlesnake Rosie’s Maple Bacon Whiskey. Same as before, it starts with their award-winning Bourbon (which is tasty stuff) and then they infuse real maple syrup from Mendon Maple Farms and natural bacon flavoring. It just came out in December, 2018, and it’s sure to be a hit.
Maple, Whiskey, and Bacon … seriously, how can there be anything wrong with that combination at all?

What does Rattlesnake Rosie's Maple Bacon taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Rattlesnake Rosie's Maple Bacon and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Tennessee Whiskey closely parallels Bourbon, but final filtering through sugar-maple charcoal (called the Lincoln County Process) is what some producers say differentiates them. Tennessee Whiskey’s finish is sweeter and smoother than Bourbon.

The flavors are just spot on and fun — it literally tastes like you are eating bacon and sipping a Manhattan at the same time.
The finish is medium length, sweet, and a dash salty.
Ratings & Reviews
I start my day with a shot in my coffee and end my day with a shot poured over dessert.
Very subtle maple taste. I could smell bacon when I opened the bottle. Very smooth.
I was intrigued by this and decided to give it a try, but I never through it would be this good! The sweetness is definitely the primary flavor, but the other flavors in the profile are easily detectable. Goes down smooth with just a bit of burn on the way down. I could see myself sipping this all day (as long as I’m in the mood for sweet), though I suspect this wouldn’t work well in a mixed drink.
It's not bad, but it is a little like trying to drink maple bacon syrup. Surprisingly good for adding flavor in cooking.
It’s deep great flavor keeps me drinking
Very good whiskey enjoyed the flavor
Tastes exactly how you'd expect it to. Very flavorful and aromatic with the only downside being the syrupy texture. For a real treat mix it 1/1 with iron smoke whiskey. They balance each other out pleasantly and you'll be sipping all night.
Extremely disappointed. It looks and tastes like a hand made mixture of moonshine, maple syrup and burned bacon, from someone's skillet too long held over a wood fire. Awful burnt bacon after taste. Not worth $56.00 a bottle. Will not purchase again.
Overkill on the added smoky flavor. Can’t pickup any of the other flavors over the smokiness. It leaves a lingering smoky aftertaste.
It was too sweet for me, would like to tasted more of the whiskey. Used it in a mixer and put a bacon strip in the glass to add some character to the drink.
I wanted to like this but the Maple and Bacon overpower the whiskey. I'll use it in marinading some try-tip.
It is smooth but SUPER sweet.
