Yellowstone Bourbon is more than just a drink; it's a piece of American history that dates back to the days of the Pioneer West. It has a rich and exciting story that involves well-known people such as J.B. Dant, D.H. Taylor, J.T. Williams, and Jacob Beam.
Originally named after the then-newly-opened Yellowstone National Park, the brand has changed hands and locations several times throughout its history. It has been through many ups and downs, including being sold as medicine during Prohibition and becoming the largest brand in Kentucky in the 1960s.
In 2010, Stephen Beam, a descendant of J.W. Dant and Jacob Beam, founded the Limestone Branch Distillery. Through a partnership with Luxco, he started making a revitalized Yellowstone Bourbon in Lebanon, Kentucky, using some of the original J.B. Dant mash bills. This revitalized version of the Bourbon aims to honor the brand's rich history while providing a new and improved flavor.
In addition to its historical significance, Yellowstone Bourbon has gained popularity due to its smooth taste and unique flavor profile. It has become a favorite among Whiskey enthusiasts and is often enjoyed neat or in classic cocktails.
Overall, Yellowstone Bourbon symbolizes American history and is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of creating a great Bourbon. Designed as a treat to both the Whiskey know-it-alls and complete beginner tasters, no matter the background, Yellowstone Bourbon turns everyone into explorers who prefer to live in the moment, mindfully tasting—truly a Whiskey for all.
