What would happen if the descendants of the legendary Beam family got the itch to reenter the distilling business? This is what would happen… meet Limestone Branch Distillery. Steve and Paul Beam launched their fledgeling distillery in 2011 and released their first super-premium Spirits in 2015. The initial results were so promising, that industry giant Luxco bought a 50% stake to provide distribution and expansion capital. So far their lineup contains three Gold-medal-winning Whiskies and they are just getting started.
Limestone Branch has done an annual release of their "Yellowstone" limited edition Whiskey since 2015, and this year’s is a doozy. Yellowstone Limited Edition 2020 Bourbon is a small batch Bourbon aged seven years and then finished in French Armagnac barrels — a finishing touch that amplifies the butterscotch notes. The gorgeous new bottle design is filled at 50.5% ABV, so you will have no doubt what you are tasting.
Deep Mahogany
Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is rich and sophisticated with notes of new suede leather, dark chocolate, mixed melons, and a hint of Grappa.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
The palate is strong and thick with notes of flamed orange zest, grape must, warm oak, English toffee, and stewed dark fruit.
Finish
The finish is medium-to-long and warm with a light note of toasted coconut.
