A lovely entry into the burgeoning Tequila space in an unaged sipping Spirit with a well-balanced profile and great texture.

Tequila Holdings was founded by John Chappell in 2006. The company got the trademark on PaQui in 2008 and began working on what would become their signature Tequila offering. Once they had developed their products, they started selling in a grass-roots effort with John and his sales manager selling bottles of finished Tequila literally door-to-door to restaurants and bars in New York City. Met with success and a solid reorder rate, they launched a successful fund-raising campaign on StartEngine to ramp up product and build distribution.

PaQuí Tequila comes in the three primary categories of Tequila. All three are built on the foundation of PaQui Silvera Tequila. This is an unaged Spirit made from 100% Weber blue agave. Importantly, where a lot of lesser Tequilas harvest agave after only a few years, PaQui allows their agave to grow longer in the flied — seven to eight years. This means that they plants have a deeper, sweeter nectar. The plants are roasted in an autoclave, fermented for five days, and distilled at Distillery Autentica Tequilera in the town of Tequila in central Jalisco.

Smartass Corner:
PaQui is said to be an Aztec word that translates as "to be happy." The logo is a stylized Aztec warrior who is dancing.

I know nothing about tequila t...

I know nothing about tequila that’s not taken as a shot. I was very surprised how much I liked this! Easy to drink and very smooth. Not much to smell, but tasted far more complex that it smells. Really opened my mind to sipping tequila. I look forward to trying other tequila in the future.

The best blanco tequila I have...

The best blanco tequila I have ever sipped. It has none of that harsh, nail polish remover, diesel fuel taste or finish that a lot of the main brands have -- none at all -- has a delightful aroma and lots of flavor from start to finish. A joy to sip on the rocks or just cold, although, it does make any cocktail I make with this tequila exceptionally smooth, soft and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. All my friends love it, too.

As a tequila fan, I was blown away by PaQuí Silvera. It is far above the "usual brands," bursting with fresh, sweet, tropical agave fruit notes with a weighty, silky texture. It's an awesome sipper, and mixed with a bit of lime cordial or fresh lime juice and agave syrup -- it's a dream in a simple cocktail.
