Whiskey born in love, now revived.
Love is one of the best reasons to live. And love is one of the reasons this Whiskey exists. It was in 1879 when Charles Dedman married and got a large parcel of land on the banks of the Kentucky river by his father-in-law as a wedding gift. He built a distillery there and started producing Bourbon. When the terror of teetotalism and temperance came, the Feds seized millions of dollars’ worth of Bourbon and shipped it up the river to be stored in some warehouse (and most definitely imbibed by the very Federales).
Then, that warehouse was either burned to the ground by accident or burned to the ground by Al Capone himself. In any case, those gallons were lost, and Kentucky Owl disappeared. Until Charlie's great-great-grandson Dixon came around and made his ancestor's wish come true: bring back Kentucky Owl. Dixon did some magic and a small batch of high quality Bourbon came back to life.
This bottle is the first rye Whiskey by Kentucky Owl. It has notes of pine, honey and vanilla with oaky undertones and rich consistency. It's tamer than its cousins and it should be enjoyed while sitting by the fire. Not that it's mandatory, it would just feel awesome.
