Rum with a mission: an awesome Cuba Libre.
It was 1875, when a man in Italy decided it would be a great idea to move to Nicaragua. And for him, it was indeed! The industrious head of
the Pellas family established a distillery and by 1890, the bottles of his
Flor de Caña Rum appeared on the shelves of Nicaragua. He didn’t wait long to expand to other markets and by 1990s, his family business had
the largest reserve of aged Rums in the world.
Flor de Caña Rums carry
volcano in their blood. The fertile volcanic soil brings rich minerals and due to the climate, Angels take a fair share of the Rum aging in white oak barrels that used to hold Bourbon. The result are the lovely amber color and rich flavors.
Flor de Caña 4 Year Añejo Gold (Oro) is a premium golden Spirit with a vanilla corsage and is great for either neat sipping or light cocktails and punches (a mixed drink, not blows with your fist). It's a naturally aged Rum with the number 4 as a representative figure of the average age. It's smooth and
puts more expensive Rums to shame. We could use a ton of superlatives, but let's cut to the chase:
it's delicious. Simple as that. Easy to drink though, so mind your bottle.
