The one that went sweet

Dos Primos is - we kid you not - a collaboration between two cousins, Thomas Rhett, a Grammy-nominated country artist, and Jeff Worn, a pecan King of South Georgia. Two cousins share many things - DNA, a good ear, a business mind, and a love for slow life and a pour of a good Tequila enjoyed in front of a campfire. And so, to bring more good Tequila to the globe, they made partners with the Gonzalez family in Mexico. The Gonzalezes have been distilling their own Tequila just outside the city of Arandas, in the highlands of Jalisco, for over 150 years, using the same hands-on crafty approach of Tequila making since the beginning, and now, with a little help from the cousins, their Tequila is famous worldwide.

Dos Primos has quickly established itself as one of the better celebrity Tequilas out there, having its own distinctive flavor of an Agave that’s had a good life and a soft hand caressing it. Dos Primos Tequila is made from fully-matured estate-grown Agave plants that are cooked in an autoclave, crushed, and fermented for three days before being distilled twice in copper pot stills. The Añejo is then aged in ex-Bourbon barrels for at least 13 months, bringing some sweetness to the table next to that agave flavor and some spiciness. Dos Primos can be enjoyed neat, maybe even next to some pancakes on a holiday Sunday morning.
