Crown Royal is the Royalty of Canadian Whisky. Sure, there are those who might argue with that from a point of preference, but no one can argue that it is the top selling brand of Canadian Whisky in the world. Each day, their Manitoba distillery alone consumes 10,000 bushels of grain and 3.4 million liters of water. At any given point in time, there are more than two million barrels of Whisky aging in the complex of 46 warehouses.

On top of all that, they do a darn good job of producing a consistently high quality, clean-drinking, Canadian-styled spirit that has won the hearts of many ‘a Whisky-lover. And their famous velvet bags embracing each bottle are collected and re-used by their legion of raving fans. We know a bloke who had his mother knit a bunch of them together to cover his pool table. No joke, the lucky bastard!

Crown Royal’s Cornerstone Blend is the first Limited Edition in what they call their Noble Collection. First issued in April of 2016, Cornerstone Blend is a compilation of three signature Whiskies — literally from the cellars of their Valleyfield warehouse. It is 61% “Bourbon Style” Whisky from a column still and 6% from their Coffey still. The final 33% is a a 96% Rye. We also know that the youngest Whisky in the bottle is eight years old — which is why this special blend has a deeper, almost mahogany tone. All that attention to detail piles on layers of complexity, but with a decided fruit-forward profile. And like all limited editions, once the past bottle is gone, there will be no more.
