Discover the #1 style of tequila in Mexico with this luxury Cristalino collection. This suite of crystal-clear aged tequilas and mezcals is the epitome of luxury, art, craftsmanship, and agave innovation.

Created by Juan Domingo Beckmann, Maestro Dobel Diamante Cristalino Reposado Tequila is the world’s first Cristalino. A blend of Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo tequilas, it’s aged in European white oak casks for 1, 2, and 3 years respectively. Expect refined notes of oak, vanilla, cinnamon and almond.

Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino is an ultra-premium Extra Añejo Cristalino, handcrafted from 100% Blue Weber agaves sourced from a single family-owned estate. Twice distilled in copper pot stills, it offers notes of caramel, honey, and hints of chocolate and tobacco.

A blend of Añejo and Extra Añejo tequilas, Gran Centenario Cristalino Añejo Tequila is finished in Calvados casks and meticulously filtered through Mexican silver. This tequila offers layers of sweet agave, caramel, vanilla, and oak, with a hint of baked apple.

Reserva de la Familia Orgánico Añejo Cristalino is the pinnacle of over 230 years of tequila-making expertise. Aged in American oak and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, it delivers notes of cooked agave, raw honey, licorice, and dried fruit.

Creyente Azul Mezcal Cristalino blends of Espadín and Cuishe agave mezcals. Aged in American oak casks, its herbal and floral notes intertwine with smoky undertones and hints of vanilla and guava.

SMARTASS CORNER

  1. Cristalino is a recent addition to the tequila category, introduced in Mexico in 2008 with Maestro Dobel Diamante by 11th-generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann. Cristalinos are now the #1 style of tequila in Mexico. The best bars in Mexico tout these as their favorite Cristalinos.

  2. Cristalino is a unique type of aged tequila or mezcal aged in oak—whether Reposado, Añejo, Extra-Añejo, or a blend—and then expertly filtered using an innovative filtration process. This achieves the clarity of a Blanco and softens the oak notes of the aged tequila, resulting in a new bright taste profile.

  3. Why was the first Cristalino created? In the early 2000s, as tastes shifted to white spirits, a new generation of tequila drinkers longed for a more accessible, premium, and modern expression of tequila that they could mix in cocktails. Inspired by this shift, Beckmann aimed to create the smoothest expression of tequila, capturing both the complexity of an aged tequila with the bright vibrancy of a blanco.

  4. There are over 136 species of agave. For tequila to be deemed truly ‘premium’ it must be comprised of 100% of the Blue Weber agave species.

  5. Dobel® 50 was crafted to celebrate founder Juan Dobel's 50th birthday, blending tradition with innovation to honor the past and envision the future in tequila making.

  6. Reserva de la Familia stands out as the first widely available organic Cristalino tequila, setting a new benchmark in the world of premium spirits.

  7. Each brand of tequila boasts its distinctive production methods, such as the choice of oak barrel when aging the tequila, the degree of toast or char, and the specific microclimate where the tequila matures. The final filtration process after oak maturation is what truly distinguishes a Cristalino from its peers in the aged categories.

  8. Like fingerprints, no two filtration methods are the same. Master Distillers study the unique chemical makeup of each specific aged tequila and apply a custom-made filtration process that brings out the best in each expression. This is how Cristalinos achieve that bright flavor and velvety smoothness they're famous for.

  9. Creyente in Creyente Azul Mezcal Cristalino, meaning 'believer,' is symbolized by the Chimera—a mythical guardian of the Zapotec, fusing a jaguar's body and wings. This emblem reflects the bottle's essence: a harmonious blend of unique and unexpected flavors, inviting the curious to delve into a world of extraordinary taste experiences.

  10. Cristalinos are fantastic in cocktails, adding vibrant flavors of aged tequila while keeping your cocktail bright. Reposado Cristalinos are especially harmonious in Margaritas and Palomas, while Añejo and Extra-Añejo Cristalinos shine in spirit-forward cocktails like Old Fashioneds, or on their own with a solitary ice cube or in a long-stemmed tequila flute, highlighting the aromatics of the Cristalino.

  11. Today there are over 40 Cristalinos available on the market and counting as the category gains recognition.
