A unique Mezcal that tastes of an age gone by.

Código 1530 knows well that "the best stuff" in Mexico is not for sale. Unless, of course, you just happen to make friends with the locals from a small village of Amatitán, who have been making an elixir known only to a few for generations and are willing to sell you their families' liquid legacy in small batches.

The folks at Código 1530 don't cut corners and firmly believe the best stuff can only be made using age-old traditions, secret family distilling processes, hard work, and love for the juice. Their Tequila and Mezcal feature no chemicals, no flavoring, no sugar, just the rich, natural flavors of the local Agave and Maguey, and the finest Napa Cabernet French white oak barrels for a uniquely delicate finish.

Código 1530 Ancestral Mezcal is the first of their two Mezcal offerings. The Ancestral honors the origins of the style, the ancient process, the people producing it, and the region of Oaxaca. Made in a single village, the production involved no machines or automation, just love, sweat, tears, and a highly-seasoned Mezcal Master to adjust the important details of the process: the hand-mashing of the 100% Papalome Maguey using a wooden stick, the slow fermentation in an open leather vat, and the distillation in clay pots. The result is a truly rare and unique Mezcal that tastes of an age gone by.
