An incredibly special release that’s won practically every Whiskey award going.
Formerly a wool mill, the Midleton Distillery, named after Lord Midleton who inherited the building, subsequently turning it into a what is now one of Ireland’s most iconic and loved distilleries from a mill in 1825 with his two brothers. The distillery includes the World’s largest still with a capacity of over 31,000 gallons!
Powers John Lane is consistently described as one of the best Irish Whiskies created. It typifies Irish Whiskey in a truly classic way. Mixing maturation in Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks, this Whiskey is all about balance in ways rarely seen in the category.
Sweet, pleasant nose. Perfect proof, no water needed. One of my favorite Irish.
Our favorite of the 3 in tasting box. It was comparable to the 4 roses.
Sweet, very good
Incredible! Vanilla honey and a baking spice with a finish that goes on and on and on . . .
Nose: apples and honey, caramel
Taste: honey sweetness with fruit, some vanilla, some oak and baking spices
Smooth, the best of the three from the tasting box. Honey, vanilla and a bit of butter
the spicy notes are pretty prominent, yet it’s a little too sweet. didn’t like the finish too much.
It is a very good, balanced, Irish Whiskey with a fresh birth; while a balanced life; leads to a dry & oily death.
Smooth and warm. Quickly moving it's way up my list of favorites.
Quite drinkable on its own. Flavor spiral is on target. Nice nose, smooth and sweet up front, with some pleasing heat going down. Price point seems a bit high. Enjoyable dram!
Nice & smooth with a sweet flavor.
Smooth with great depth of flavor.
Sweet. Almost banana caramel. Very smooth.
Sweet aroma and taste but astringent on the throat. Dry but smooth finish.
Somewhat spicy and strong, but with pleasant vanilla aftertaste. Enjoyable
Well balanced and inviting. My perfect match.
I really enjoyed this one. A little less nose and finish as the Irishman, but incredibly smooth and had a lot of grain flavor. Nice easy drinker.
Absolutely loved this Whiskey. Perfect balance. Very smooth.
It was okay, nothing stood out for me, smooth, but not enough spice for my pallete.
Nice fruit start, after taste isn’t for me. But fun and playful.
Real smooth with nice chocolate spicy flavor.
Wasn’t fond of the after taste
Perhaps it’s my pallet, but I just can’t taste any distinction in the flavors. I feel the spiciness which is a nice touch without overpowering, but nothing else quite comes through. Good taste and feel overall, just can’t make out the particulars.
Another great option. I will be looking at buying this.
Just what I want in an Irish whiskey. Smooth
Balanced whisk(e)y with nice fruit and coffee. Not as smooth as we were expecting, but that didn't detract from the experience.
My favorite whiskey. Spicy and sweet. I love this variety!
The fruit overpowered it.
Very pleasant when nosing. Vanilla at the beginning and then a hint of fruit. Short aftertaste. Smoother after the first taste. Enjoyed it. One that you would want to have a bottle on the shelf to change your other tastings up a bit.
Smooth and delicious. Sweet fruit and toasted barley. Nice spice complexity. Gone in a flash.
It's ok - I've had worse I've had better - in the Irish Whiskey world it doesn't really stand on its own.
Aroma: oak, wordiness, vanilla, dried fruits, chocolate (maybe)
Taste: sweet, maltiness, spiciness
Not getting a lot from it but for some reason I still like it - very smooth
One of my favourites, really harks back to old school Irish Whiskey. Beautiful spicy notes, perfect with a cigar!
I really enjoyed this bottle, great pour with a lot if different taste to enjoy.
I'm worried that I've just finished a bottle and I've only one left.
Quite smooth indeed. Darker than I thought it would be. I'd definitely drink it again
Was ok...but I would be ok with it on the rocks...
Great Irish!! Sweet through and through, smooth finish with a little kick. Loved the chocolate notes!!
Lovely flavor spiral. Full bodied yet light. Subtle flavors. Loved this one.
Have bought several bottles, not typically Irish. Almost sweet like a rum...a super value Irish Whiskey!
Great Irish Pure Pot/Single Pot still whiskey, will hopefully always have one at hand from now on.
A smooth drink!
Very pleasant. I tasted more of a dark chocolate at the start. Finished smooth. Very good dram
Nice and well balanced pot still character with lots of dried fruits, dark chocolate, honey and vanilla, oily and smooth.
