All about The GlenAllachie

Young Whiskies from the distillery is known to be lively and full of citrus notes. Although old ones got intense with leather and earthy aromas. It is really hard to find individual bottles of The GlenAllachie but you can feel it in Pernod Ricard blends.

All about The GlenAllachie distillery

Glenallachie is located in Banffshire, at the foot of Ben Rinnes, neighboring several other distilleries.

This distillery is one of the youngest in Scotland. Founded in 1967, Mackinlay McPherson Ltd. (part of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries) was in charge of The GlenAllachie Distillery. In 1985, Invergordon took it over, and afterwards it was mothballed.

Campbell Distillers bought the distillery in 1989, bringing 2 extra stills into the game. The GlenAllachie has two wash stills of 36,300 liter capacity, and two Spirit stills with 23,900 liters of capacity.

Chivas sourced, unpeated, industrial maltings are used for production. Mainly American ex-Bourbon casks and some Oloroso Sherry casks are used.
