Smoke Hattrick!

Andrew Webber and Darek Bell own and run the Corsair Artisan Distillery located in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee. Friends since childhood, Andrew and Darek began as beer brewers out of their garage, and later hit a snag while working on a prototype bio-diesel plant. They quickly realized producing Whiskey would be a lot more fun. Soon after they opened up Corsair, a distillery dedicated to producing exquisite small-batch spirits, and relentless experimenting.

Corsair Triple Smoked is one of their most successful and critically acclaimed Whiskeys. It has the complexity and rich smoke of a single malt Scotch, and the sweetness and barrel notes of an American Whiskey. Triple smoke uses three fractions of malted barley, smoked by cherry wood, peat and beechwood. Peat will be familiar to all Islay Scotch aficionados, and beechwood no stranger to fans of German Rauchbier. This is the kind of experimenting we absolutely love. And the world is in need for more of it.

What does Corsair Triple Smoke taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Corsair Triple Smoke and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Corner
Rye Whiskey is made from mash that is at least 51 per cent rye. The grain gives rye Whiskey its spicy, sometimes peppery, and bitter flavour. Rye was a big seller before Prohibition. After decades in obscurity, it’s fashionable again. George Washington distilled rye Whiskey at Mount Vernon.

Delicious!! Love the smoky taste. We drink it with a bit of Rose’s lime juice

Captain
Captain,
Great stuff. I ran into distillery in Nashville and brought some home, really liked it and so glad to see it here. Nice smoked flavor but not overpowering, smooth with a nice Carmel / Tobacco end. I do recommend it and there other selections.

Jenni
Jenni,
Nice taste profile, a hint too much bourbon for me. Otherwise very smooth!

Steve
Steve,
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I can understand the name being misleading to those looking for heavy smoke flavor, but it was just the right amount for (someone who's never tried an Islay scotch) me. Makes me want to try some of Corsair's other offerings.

Lisa

Decent amount of smoke. Pretty comparable to Bullet.

John

Love the smooth smoky taste. This pairs well after a grilled or smoked meal.

Floyd

Great Smoke taste, nice finish.

Craig
Craig,
With a name like Triple Smoke you would think the smoke flavor would be strong. Nope. Its a nice Whiskey but I wanted more smoke. The Triple smoke has to do with the drying being done with smoke from 3 different types of wood.

Great flavor. Smooth. Couldn't put the glass down

Timothy
Timothy,
I love the experimentation of the different smoked barleys. This could also serve as a nice segue into more heavily peated whiskys for newcomers.

Brad
Brad,
Nice and smooth. Great smoke flavor. I'm not even a fan of Peat whiskeys (at all), but this was blended very well.

Vitaliy
Vitaliy,
Tastes like a fine scotch even though it's an American Whiskey. Not too smokey which is fine with me. Tastes great neat.

Stephen
Stephen,
Not very smokey which was a shock considering the triple smoke title. This one is best served in a mixed drink.

Mary
Mary,
This was good, but could be smokier. It's heavier, which isn't a bad thing, but definitely not one of my favorites.
