Dominic,
Loved it
Scott,
Fairly heavy, jammy, flavor punch. Overall pretty nice and smooth
Ryan,
Brandy for the bourbon drinker. Totally delicious.
Amy,
Cherry vanilla on the nose, along with dried apricots and some baking spices. The aroma seriously reminds me of a semisweet Riesling... has the floral and stone fruit quality to it. More stone fruit and baking spices on the palate. Lots going on here! Complex, flavorful, viscous.
Clark,
There are lots of flavors coming out despite the high alcohol. Cherry is quite strong. First taste was overpowering but then the tastes started kicking in. We won’t order this one. But now it makes us want to do a larger brandy tasting.
Aaron,
Nice oaky fruity flavors. Not too much burn considering the 62%.
Niko,
Good first taste but too strong in alcohol. After taste not so good... I don’t like to blend with water at home...
Reminds somewhat of famous Finnish whisky produced in Valamo Monastery..
PJ,
Nose reminds me of gin.
Palate is fruity, floral, black licorice, and black peppercorns.
Ameya,
Lots of cherry upfront, kind of overwhelmed everything else. Word of advice- don't use a snifter, use a tulip or a glencairn glass, the alcohol will overwhelm everything else.
Matthew,
A go to for me. If bourbon and brandy had a baby it'd be C&K
Kenneth,
Cherry forward, though takes more medicinal. Cherry overwhelmed all other flavors
Antti,
It is am outstanding, intense, Cask Strength Small Batch Brandy that has an aromatic birth; while a bold life leads to a dry & velvety death with hints of flowers, toasted oak & tannins.
Cortland,
Love this. Strong enough that it needs to be on rocks to enjoy, but so good.
Matthew,
Normally a whisky drinker - enjoyed this but not rushing back for more - more than 2 and I don’t honk I could stand up
Zeb,
Good, just not overwhelming
Steven,
Medicinal; biting on the palate; strong aftertaste
Terry,
Very smooth. Nice after dinner
Hansen,
damn smooth, quite fragrant & just enough sweetness to tenderize the aromatic flavor
Daniel,
It smelled like buttery maple syrup; dry,hot mouth feel. It's so dry it feels like its warmer than room temperature. A waft of tobacco rolls down your throat as it finishes with a slight oaky nibble.
Troy,
Strong cherry nose and strong overall flavor. But doesn't come across well balanced or finished. At the price point there are far better brandy and cognac out there.
Nathan,
Maybe it’s because it’s my first shot at brandy but it was way to much for my wife and I. Couldn’t get over the alcohol smell or taste.
Alex,
A great brandy for whisky lovers, the dark cherry reigns supreme in the profile. If you like whisky give this a try!
William,
Very strong and very cherry! Not for beginners, packs a punch.
Alicia,
You can definitely taste the black sherry.
Taste great
Angela,
Way too harsh and a more harsh finish that lingers for 5-10 mins. No thanks
Andrew,
“Give me the strongest stuff you got,” said Doc Brown to his bartender in 1885. That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I took a sip of this almost illegal proof brandy. If pain is your pleasure, pop this bottle. It has the nose of acetone and the aftertaste of regret. Do not pour this into the time machine in lieu of gasoline, you’d do better to put some logs on the fire and strap in for your trip across Eastwood ravine.
Jason,
I think this is the funniest review I have ever read. Thanks for the laugh.
Mike,
I am not sure what others were drinking but burn too much... so nice notes underneath of typical brandy but unpleasant initially. Finish was solid though.
Paul,
Strong flavor but still a smooth taste
Cameron,
If brandy was scotch... this would be it!
Calvin,
Not normally a brandy fan, but this is good stuff.
Gerard,
Pretty smooth not harsh a little sweet at the first but then evens out
edward,
Not a big Brandy drinker but this was amazing! has a great taste of cherry that shines through the first hint of oak. Would highly recommend. Great drink to have warmed up.
Briana,
Sadly I has to drink it with ICE.
Alex,
Strong cherry notes with oak undertones
Rene,
Very different with a cherry entrance. Has some orange and a bit of marmalade. Distinguished
Jon,
I had a single-barrel example in the spirit advent calendar from Flaviar that I really enjoyed, but there were no bottles of that available. But I found this bottle from the same producer with similar tasting notes, so I thought I'd give it a try. The result was an even better experience. What a fantastic brandy!
Raoul,
Surprising! It’s obviously a brandy, but I also taste juniper and flowers like a gin. Nice and strong, a bit rustic and good for sipping neat after the bbq. Not refined orcomex to gain a 9 though. Very pleasant
Timothy,
Wow! This is uniquely different and damn well inviting!
Nose: delightful tannic chocolate covered Washington state cherries. Canned peaches for sure hit right afterwards.
Taste: (added a capful of Kirkland’s finest h2o) the high proof definitely gets you but once you get past the woody tannins you get tropical fruits and something akin to a nice Belgian lambic berry ale with a bit of creaminess at the end.
Finish: light toasted wood and mandarin oranges with a slight cream finish. A really delightful finish that goes on and on.
I definitely need to buy a bottle. I am a Wine guy 1st and Bourbon 2nd (nearly 1st) and this Brandy fits the proverbial bill as a beautiful - in between - the Love child. Highly recommend you get a bottle too.
Barbara,
Was so excited that I missed the rating....
Barbara,
Wow. A great surprise. After the first sip we revisited the smal print on the bottle, were then not surprised to read 124 proof and decided to treat this like a whiskey... hence diluting it with water. What a unique and wonderful spirit.
Tim,
Very good
Pierce,
Smooth and sweet, with a slight burn
Paul,
Simply delightful on the rocks. I was not expecting so much flavour at this proof!
Peter,
Bit of a bite but a great aftertaste
Zachary,
Yummy brandy
Michael,
Wow, just wow
Laura,
Burns but nice taste
Ryan,
Way too much Alcohol. On first sip I could taste the notes, but after that it was just harsh strong alcohol.
Aaron,
Great flavor!
Angela,
You would never guess it was 62% alcohol. The dark berry flavor begins and ends with an oak and dry finish. Would love to try this with a ribeye.
Rocco,
Best Brandy I’ve had in a loooong time! I can see why it won the top 5 in the 2020 Flaviar Awards!
Lelia,
Can't wait to taste this! I had the pleasure of touring this distillery. Think old railroad carts re-purposed into a gift shop and outdoor tasting bar in a wide open outdoor event space with a huge fire pit and butterfly garden! Then the tour complete with a barrel tasting and bottling opportunity. You must number and register your bottle by signing your bottle out of the facility. At the time of my bottling the brandy alcohol content was at 128 proof! The proof changes from day to day. You're warned not to resale unless you want excise hunting you down, lol. My 78 year old uncle visited during the holidays. Between the Indiana Blackberry wine and the Louisville Brandy, I think I became his favorite niece :)
David,
Good flavor after a bit but way too harsh
Kelli,
Subtle fruit flavor and a smooth finish.
Chris,
Very rich taste, a little harsh up front, but it smooths out into a much warmer and nicer finish.
Mojca,
Amazingly rich taste, I love it.
David,
I love this brand of brandy
Sébastien,
Simply my favorite brandy out there.
Mark,
The perfect nightcap. Will peel the paint off your doors, and a little goes a long way. But tastes great and very enjoyable as a low-volume sipper. Tried it with water, which didn't change it much, so I'm drinking it neat a small snifter at a time.
Eden,
I completely agree.
Stephen,
I like everything about this Brandy. Smooth bold flavors and a nice finish. A great way to wrap up a long day.
