Colonel E.H. Taylor small batch Whiskey is bottled in bond — the equivalent of a single malt in the world of Bourbons. It is a small batch specialty brand out of the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
It even scored a 97 at the Ultimate Spirits challenge, which was a higher score that the more famous Pappy Van Winkle. It is a high-Corn Bourbon.
Buffalo Trace isn’t saying, but the flavor has a pronounced caramel-corn / popcorn flavor. It finished well with some spice.
It’s won a few prestigious awards too. Even though this is only available in certain regions and quantity is limited, they have a range of strengths and specialty finishes.
