Colonel E.H. Taylor Old Fashioned Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey

Some 5,000 years ago some clever lad decided to give that sour barley soup, a result of leaving the barley crops out in the rain to soak and then bubble away in the sun for the next few days, an honest try. Little that he know at that time, is that he would inadvertently discover the first fermented beverage—by way of the 'sour mash'.

Sour mashing is how things used to get done, both in the Beer and Whiskey department, and it was a proud tradition. In honor of the tradition still carried out under Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. in the 1800s, this Old Fashioned Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey was made according to this technique. Allowing the mash to sour naturally for days before distillation, the result is a Bourbon of character and body like none other: floral aroma with an undertone of freshly baked bread, unusually fresh and light honey-like palate, and a clean finish with hints of leather.
