In 1992, Maurice Kanbar had a thought: what if you could make the perfect classic Martini? Obviously, the first thing you’d need is top notch Vodka but unfortunately, he couldn’t find one that would meet his high standards anywhere, so he what did he do? Kanbar founded SKYY Vodka in San Francisco and invented a proprietary process, which included quadruple-distilling and triple filtering the Vodka through California limestone to make it smoother than butter. Serious pioneer stuff.

But this was then. Ever the innovators, SKYY Vodka has been reimagined once again. This time, they added minerals from the San Francisco Bay Area for extra salinity and subtle minerality. Meaning? The nose greets with fresh and faintly fruity aromas while the already exceptionally smooth palate is clean and well, subtly salty, sporting those mineral flavors. It’s bottled at 80 proof in a blue bottle and pssst, if you make a Vodka & Soda, you won’t be disappointed. The juries at the Beverage Tasting Institute and at San Francisco World Spirits Awards weren’t disappointed either when they awarded Gold to SKYY Vodka in 2021.

As someone that drinks a lot of premium vodkas, Skyy is one of if not my favourite. Can currently get bottles for £16.50 in some places. Which for the quality of vodka is outstanding. It’s better than a lot of so called premium vodkas little to no taste if you use mixers it’s a 10/10 from me.
