An homage to Scotch.
In 1824 George Smith made a daring move and got a license to legally produce single malt Whisky. Needless to say the neighboring smugglers weren’t all too happy about it, so for protection he had to carry not one, but two guns at all times. Imagine that!
Released in 2014, The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve has been matured in first fill American oak. This wood gives it a spicy vanilla kick. The “founder” refers to George Smith, who gained his distilling license in 1824, and from that the legend of The Glenlivet was born. This expression of the World-renowned malt pays homage to the history of Glenlivet as well as the future. It has the typical Glenlivet fruity notes but is also packed full of caramel sweetness. The result is smooth and creamy, a very fine malt to dedicate to a very important man.
