A 95% Rye Whiskey that has a depth and complexity normal found in more expensive drams.

Rodney "Rod" Cegleski was a California surfer when he met an Australian Jackaroo named Hamlisch "Hammer" Marshall (a "jackaroo" is a young ranch hand down-under). In 2012 they started experimenting with brewing and distilling at the SLO Brew brewery in San Luis Obispo that Hamlisch had purchased. Distilling grew into a passion, and that passion developed into a business. They officially opened Rod & Hammer Slo Stills in 2019 and set about to build.

To qualify as a Rye Whiskey the law stipulate that the mash bill be a minimum of 51% rye grains. But for Rye Whiskey fans, the minimum will just not do. Rod & Hammer's Slo Stills Straight Rye Whiskey has a mash bill of 95% rye and just enough malted barley to keep that fermentation things running smooth. It’s then barreled in new American oak for two years before being bottled at 45% ABV. The flavor profile is deep and complex, even displaying notes of leather and exotic woods that normally show up in older drams.
