Award-winning Upstate NY Rum Revived.
The Albany Distilling Company, the first booze-makin' institution in the capital of New York State after Prohibition, brought back to life their favorite Rum: the Quackenbush Amber. It's named after the Quackenbush Still House that stood near the distillation 300 years ago and discovered when they were building a garage. The Amber Rum is pure poetry, a harmony of flavors and aromas. It's made from Albany municipal water, yeast, and top-notch Caribbean molasses. Albany used to be the powerhouse of Rum-making in America way, way back and this bottle celebrates the rich tradition.
This subtle and warm amber potion is an aged expression of the original Albany Rum. A long snooze in Ironweed Whiskey barrels didn't only give it its lovely color, but also its rich spice and vanilla notes. One of the secrets of Albany Distillery is they only distil their Rums once (as opposed to the usual three distillations) just like the old school distillers did. It is said the remake isn't quite as earthy as the original one, but it has helluva more flavors than standards Rums. Fancy a nice cocktail? Try ‘The Doctor’ with Kronan Swedish Punsch and fresh lime juice. It's perfect!
