Crystal clear is just a veneer.
Named after Enrique Partida, a farmer from the Tequila Valley in Jalisco, Partida Tequila makes some muy bueno stuff. Maestro Tequilero (Tequila Master) José Valdez oversees every step of the production process, from agave harvesting in the field till the final blending prior to bottling. Their core range consists of four Tequilas; a Blanco, a Reposado, an Añejo, and their top of the line Eleganté. They've done some pretty cool stuff with the aging, but nothing like their 3 newest creations from their Roble Fino series that has a Reposado, Cristalino, and Añejo.
It was when Valdez visited Scotland in 2018 that he came up with the idea of bringing together the worlds of Tequila and Scotch. That's how Roble Fino ("Fine Oak") came to be. Here's the gist of it: It's award-winning Tequila, finished in some proper Erdington Single Malt Sherry oak casks. The Partida Roble Fino Reposado Cristalino builds on their acclaimed Reposado that has spent 6 months in ex-Bourbon barrels. It then goes for 2 months of finishing in the aforementioned Single Malt barrels. Finally, it's filtered to remove the color, while retaining all the complexity and nuances of its double aging. Imagine the look on the faces of your Tequila buddies when it hits their senses!
