A wonderful blend of everything Italy.
The town of Moncalieri, which lies just outside Turin, has been known for its quality Liqueurs and famous names like Carpano, Cinzano, and Martini. The Vergnano family isn't creating Liqueurs in their Torino Distillati, but a special kind of Gin.
Their most famous Gin may be the one distilled with lemons from Amalfi Coast and Sicily, but their Originale expression successfully bets on wild Italian juniper from Tuscany and four other botanicals (coriander, cassia, orris, angelica root). This clear Spirit is bottled with spring water from the Monviso mountain (which you can see from the distillery) and when one opens the beautiful Azur blue bottle, all they want to do is sit down, enjoy the sun and just "dolce far niente"... Italian way of saying: "Just chillin!"
Malfy Gin Originale is a classic juniper-forward Spirit, but since it's Malfy we're talking about, there must be subtle citrus notes. As it usually goes with top notch Gins, this one should be sipped straight, but if you're feeling fancy, you can make a mean Martini or a Negroni. Master Distiller Beppe Ronco followed ancient recipes of 11th century monks and created a fresh and pure Gin that's dominated by juniper and complemented by other local herbs.
