One-of-a-kind Wheat Whiskey from the Wolverine State.

An industrious man named E.K. Warren built an innovative factory in Three Oaks, Michigan in 1883 (no original Oaks left, though). He started making two things that are still immensely popular: buggy whips and corsets. His revolutionized the manufacturing process and made his village a global phenomenon. About 120 years later, a lad named Bill Welter traveled to Scotland to learn about golf but found a lifelong friend instead: Greg Ramsay. They fell in love with Scotch Whisky and spent some time in Greg's home country, Tasmania, to learn everything one can about the precious Spirit. In 2010, Bill and Chuck Welter bought the middle section of E.K. Warren's old factory, renovated the place and established the Journeyman Distillery. The very next year, distilling started and now, it's high time we tasted the Whiskey born by Lake Michigan.

This very expression is called Buggy Whip Wheat Whiskey and it's a homage to E.K. Warren's famous whips we mentioned before. It's a proper grain to glass Whiskey made from local Midwest wheat. Now, you can call your Spirit a Wheat Whiskey if there's at least 51% of wheat in it. This bad boy is 100% wheat (and 90 proof). Soft sweetness and smoothness reveal the terroir and it could fool you into thinking you're drinking Irish Whiskey! The Whip is a wonderful addition to your Bourbons and Ryes, and is incredibly drinkable neat - although you'd be mad not to try it in a Scofflaw or Sun Kissed Desert.

Love this distillery! Great story and great products! The flavor profile shown is dead on. Great sipper, smooth, flavorful spicy leather and caramel notes.
