The search for the perfect Rum when sourcing for a product takes a great amount of trial and error before a company finally discovers the elixirs that will make their final blend a success. Dehart Spirits have ventured far and explored a vast variety of Rums from around the world to find their perfect match. A blend with flavor profile suitable for their product. Dehar Spirits discovered the beautiful Rums that Panama had to offer. Their Grander Panama Rum 8 Year Old is produced at the Ingenio San Carlos Distillery in Panama.
Grander Rum is produced in Herrara, Panama. Crafted from a proprietary grown sugar cane, harvested and transformed into grade-A molasses. The molasses undergoes fermentation with an in-house proprietary, locally-grown yeast. 20th century American Copper and Brass Works copper stills distill the molasses into Rum. The result is then filtered through cellulose plates and then cold filtered.
The Rums in the blend can range anywhere from eight years of age and is blended to 90 proof. Grander Panama is then aged in used American ex-Bourbon barrels, sourced from Kentucky, perfecting and developing the Rum’s color, aroma, flavor, and texture. Grander Panama states that their Rums are not altered or enhanced by coloring, flavoring or blending of additives. The 8-year-old Rum also won Gold Medals at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
