The treasure of the Rockies.
Have you heard the story of a millionaire, who hid a chest, filled with gold somewhere in the Rocky Mountains a couple of years back that send thousands of people on the hunt? Anyways, we found another golden treasure in Colorado. Easier to locate, too.
Golden Moon Distillery was founded by Stephen Gould and Karen Knight in 2008 specifically to produce premium hand-crafted herbal Spirits, adopting the same type of traditional production utilized by distillers way back in the in the mid-to-late 1800s.The blossoming distillery hails from Golden, Colorado, where it also draws its ingredients and inspiration.
Right now, they produce 18 different Spirits. The heart of Golden Moon Distillery is their amazing research library containing hundreds of rare books on distillation and what not. Their spirits are produced in four antique stills at their pilot plant in Golden. Local, traditional and environmentally friendly. Everything we love about small, artisanal, craft distilleries. Combine that with their love for knowledge and history and you’ve hit the jackpot. They wished for the moon, went for the gold, and they’ve succeeded. Critics love them, fans adore them. They make top quality Spirits, so that’s all right with us.
Golden Moon Gin is a prime example of their quality. It is distilled using the finest herbs, spices and botanicals available, including wild-crafted mint and juniper berries from the Rockies. Small, artisan distilleries like this are the reason behind Gin’s fantastic comeback the last couple of years. But we got to be frank, this bad boy is special. Although it has all the characteristics of a historic London Gin, it’s as unique and distinctive as they come.
Golden Moon Distillery became the first American distiller to be named as Warden of the Gin, by the prestigious UK’s Gin Gould, a club that joins together the most important master distillers, owners and industry players of the Gin world. A tribute for all the good work they’ve done and motivation for things to come. We can’t wait. You feel the gold rush yet?
