A Bourbon-Coffee Whiskey sweetened with pure agave nectar.

Devil’s River Whiskey launched their first product — a 90-proof Bourbon — in 2017 using sourced Spirits. President and co-founder Mike Cameron has been driving this upstart Texas-based Spirits company toward nationwide distribution and the opening of their own San Antonio distillery in Q4 of 2019. And they have managed to win a few awards along the way. If the Spirits industry had a "Who to Watch" list, these guys would be on it.

Devils River Coffee Bourbon starts with their core Texas Bourbon. So, it shares the mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% barley. The Spirit is aged in new oak, but then things get different. They procure fresh, Vienna-roasted coffee beans that have been sustainably harvested in Columbia, Brazil, and Honduras. They let these beans steep in the Bourbon for twenty-four hours. Then they sweeten the Spirit with pure agave nectar. The result is a complex, exotic, and sweet dram that adds a new dimension to cocktails. And it took home a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition to boot.

Smartass Corner:
Devil’s River Whiskey takes its name from a limestone spring-fed river system that empties into a reservoir on the Rio Grande about 200 miles west of San Antonio where the distillery gets its water.

This is more like a liquor than a bourbon. It’s like Patron Cafe but bourbon. Nice for sipping but if you aren’t looking for something sweet then this one isn’t for you.

Not very good. Don’t plan to eat or drink anything after drinking this. Your tastebuds will be shot. Coffee flavor is overpowering. Call this a novelty drink
