The classic Londoner, but better.
Beefeater is the Elvis of Gins – even if you don’t drink Gin, you know it. Now, the good old red-and-white from Chaplin’s birthplace got even better. Master Distiller Desmond Payne brainstormed like hell and came up with a new legend with a twist: the twelve botanicals used in this recipe (Seville orange peel, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, juniper, coriander seed, liquorice, angelica root, almond and orris root) are accompanied by chilled green tea, sencha tea, and handmade grapefruit rind. They’re then steeped in the Spirit for 24 hours – hence the name. What came out is an aromatic and sweet superior London dry Gin.
The fantastically smooth Gin is perfect for various contemporary cocktails such as the Bramble, Rosemary Collins, French 24, or just the immortal Gin and Tonic. Beefeater 24 is perfect with sweeter tonics, and by design: Mr. Payne looked to the Far East for inspiration and since quinine is banned in Japan, they have sweeter tonics. In case you love your Gin neat, it’s more than perfect for that, too.
