All about La Hechicera

La Hechicera is blended and bottled at the Casa Santana Ron Y Licores S.A.S, situated in the heart of Barranquilla, Colombia.

Here the barrels of Rum are meticulously kept under the watchful eye of Master Blender Giraldo Mituoka Kagana, the son of Japanese immigrants who began his career cutting sugar cane for the Cuban Revolution.

La Hechicera is a naturally ‘unpolished’ Rum, it is bottled without additives or sugar. It is the American oak that it is aged in that yields its smooth character and overall quality flavor profile.

La Hechicera is a marriage of Rums aged from 12 to 21 years old, crafted in the solera of Barranquilla. This traditional way of making Rum does not require any finishing or adding any additives.

This Rum has a signature deep Colombian woodiness, and strong scents of toffee, orange peel, tobacco and roasted coffee. The finish is crisp and smooth.

La Hechicera has garnered much critical acclaim, receiving Gold medals at the 2013 International Spirits Challenge, the 2014 Spirits Business, and 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
