A new sour-mash Tennessee Whiskey with a lifetime of experience built in.
"Daddy Rack" is the nickname given to J. Arthur Rackman by his daughter Grace. He was actually born into the business… or rather, he was born "over" the business — as a child he and his family lived in the second floor apartment over his father’s liquor store. Then he did an apprenticeship at the famous Camus Cognac House in France, followed by a long career brokering Whiskies and Gins. Now he has fulfilled a lifelong dream to partner with master distillers to craft his own brand.
Daddy Rack Tennessee Straight Whiskey starts with local Tennessee grains all gathered from within fifty miles of the distillery. Fermentation follows a traditional seventy-two hour long sour mash process followed by double distillation — first in a column still, then a pot. The Spirit comes off the copper at about 67.5% ABV and is filtered twice in maple charcoal — the famous Lincoln County Process. It’s aged in new, lightly charred (#3) barrels. Each batch is crafted from just twenty hand-selected casks. And it’s time to take a taste.
