It’s Rhumbelivable.

Prepare yourselves, boys and girls. Time to embrace some Rhum* royalty. You see, Clement is one of those elite brands, any true Rhum aficionado should sample and experience. Originally a sugar plantation, the distillery sits on a 43 acre in an estate in Martinique that grows its own sugarcane to extract first-pressed aromatic and flavorful sugarcane juice to distill pure Rhum from.

This has become quite the focal point in the Rhum Agricole world with over 160,000 visitors making a pilgrimage there each year. We understand them completely, yes sir. Since 1887, the production of Rhum Clément has been carried out according to the purest traditions and most time-honored inherited from Charles and Homère Clément. It’s no wonder that their Spirits consistently win awards and the praise of Rhum-lovers everywhere.

Clement produces a whole range of excellent Rhums, with Rhum Clement Cuvée Homère being the cream of the crop. No surprise really, since this particular expression is named after one of its founders. Clément Cuvée Homère is the top of the Cellar Master’s Selection Series and features the highest rated vintage rums of the last fifteen years aged in French Limousin Barriques and re-charred Bourbon Barrels. Each vintage brings its unique flavor profile, which makes Cuvée Homère one of the most aromatic and complex Rums out there.

It has that perfect balance and richness that most Rums, heck Spirits, can only strive for. However, one can only do it so much justice by describing it – you have to taste it. This is not a Rhum for everyone, not even every occasion. But even at the price, it is still an unbelievable value. It’s the sort of Spirit that makes the good times great, but even the most ordinary days special. It’s Rhumbelivable.

Smartass Corner:
"Since when do you spell rum with an 'h'?" Well the French do. Rhum Agricole is a style of Rum which originates from the French Caribbean islands. It’s not only spelled differently, it’s made differently. Most Rum is made of molasses, but Rhum Agricole is made from fresh sugar cane juice.

Rum is why we measure alcohol proof. To make sure Rum wasn’t watered down, it had to be ‘proven’ by soaking gunpowder with it. If it was ‘overproof’ (higher than 57.15 % vol.), then the gunpowder would ignite, if it wouldn’t, it was ‘underproof’.
