Character Goatson

A blend of four mash bills and solid aging make for a dram that will not come back to bite you.

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley played the two leading characters in the hit TV series The Vampire Diaries. In that series they played the Salvatore Brothers — vampires, sure, but brothers never the less. Anyway, they became friends over the course of the eight-year-run. And when the series ended in 2017, they maintained their friendship and decided to create a Bourbon together. Thus, Brother’s Bond Bourbon was born.

Brother's Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a blend of four MGP mash bills that combine to form a true four-grain Bourbon. The net effect is a Spirit with 65% corn and 22% rye, with wheat and malted barley making up the rest. The fermentation is performed with a proprietary yeast via the sour-mash process. It’s copper column-distilled and aged a minimum of four years in new oak with #4 char staves and #2 char heads. It’s all brand new and makes for a tasty combination.

Bourbon matures quicker than Scotch due to higher temperatures in American warehouses.

J.B.'s father, Joseph W. Dant, invented a still made from a poplar log at 16, as he couldn't afford a copper still. Although crude, it worked exceptionally well!

Bourbons have very prominent notes of vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.
Bourbon must be made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.

Pinhooking means purchasing and rearing a foal based on its pedigree and either selling it or turning it into a champ racing horse. The same idea is behind Pinhook Bourbon: they source young Whiskey to mature and blend it into a blue-ribbon sipping Bourbon.
