All about The Botanist

The Botanist Gin features 31 botanicals, 22 of which are all found and hand-picked on the island of Islay, Scotland, where the Gin is produced. It’s unusual to find a Gin with so many different flavors, but trust us when we say this works.

The 9 more traditional Gin botanicals (including orris root, coriander seed and cassia bark) are added to the 22 locally sourced botanicals (including thistle, birch, heather flower, elderflower, juniper, lemon balm, spearmint, apple mint and chamomile).

All 31 botanicals are placed into the still, affectionately called ‘Ugly Betty’ where the low pressure process takes a whopping 17 hours – approximately three times longer than the traditional Gin production process. The result is a highly distinctive, well-balanced Gin with floral, sweet notes, and a zesty citrus flavor to boot.
