A deeply flavored and textured Gin that is so good and so satisfying that it can stand on its own.

Atom Drinks Group was founded in 1996 by Justin Petszaft who — while working on his PhD program in Physics — started working at a local Single Malt Whisky shop in the UK. He eventually acquired the shop and set about bringing the business online, expanding operations, and recruiting a few of his childhood friends to join him. The business has expanded to develop and market their own line of signature Spirits. Their award-winning brands include Abelforth’s, Darkness, Origin, and nearly a dozen other Spirits.

For some Spirits, making their dram "stronger" simply means adding less water to bring it to proof. And while Ableforth's Bathtub Gin Navy Strength does clock in at 57% ABV, they go the extra step of gently cracking the botanicals so that they have more exposure to the Spirit and infuse more flavor. And if you remember, they do a two-part infusion where the heat-tolerant flavors and aromatics are vapor-distilled while the more delicate ones are cold-steeped. The result is still their original, award-winning Bathtub Gin in its soul. But the flavor profile is bolder and richer on top of the higher ABV. It could actually be the first real "sipping Gin" we’ve had this year. It is astoundingly good all by itself.

Smartass Corner:
The term "bathtub Gin" came into use during Prohibition. It referred to small batch production of flavored Spirits using home-made equipment and improvised processes.

What does Ableforth's Bathtub Gin Navy Strength taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Ableforth's Bathtub Gin Navy Strength and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

London Dry Gin is not always from London. Gin does not have the same geographical restrictions as Spirits such as Cognac, Scotch, or Tequila. Only a tiny handful of London Dry Gins are actually made in the city.

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Color
Shimmery Clear

Nose / Aroma / Smell
Even chilled, the aroma is warm with cardamom and citrus taking turns on a stage of juniper and spice.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The flavors are deep, rich, and pronounced well with a full, oily mouth-feel supporting articulated notes of cinnamon, orange zest, cardamom, pine, coriander, and a hidden sweetness.

This Gin has the longest finish of any Gin we can remember with a deep and satisfying warmth.
