Rich, well-aged, complex…

Widow Jane is a Spirit-lovin’ booze-makin’ Brooklynite. The distillery carries the name of a nearby Rosendale mine that’s the source of crystal-clean agua that comprises the DNA of every Jane’s Spirit – and back in the day, the limestone that came out of that place built the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. And the water isn’t the only thing sourced locally – all the grains come from the nearby farms. Eco-friendly booze, baby!

Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen Bourbon 2021 Edition is a small batch blend of Straight Bourbons from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. It was aged for 13 years in American oak barrels that were hand-picked by Widow Jane President and Head Distiller, Lisa Wicker. As all their Spirits, this one is also proofed with limestone mineral water from Widow Jane Mine. This is a rich, well-aged, and complex expression. The mouthfeel is rich, bittersweet and spicy, rounded by a lingering finish. Now, this is some tasty eco-friendly booze…

Bourbon rules refer to manufacturing methods rather than location. Bourbon must be matured in new and charred American white oak casks for at least 2 years. If the bottle has no age statement, the Bourbon is at least 4 years old. No coloring or flavoring of any type is allowed, and the mash bill must contain at least 51% corn.
Bourbon was declared "The Official Spirit of America" by an Act of Congress signed by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964.

Yellowstone Bourbon has had several owners throughout its history, including J.B. Dant, D.H. Taylor, The Glenmore Distillery, United Distillers & Vintners, the David Sherman Company, Heaven Hill, and David Sherman (now known as Luxco).

J.B.'s father, Joseph W. Dant, invented a still made from a poplar log at 16, as he couldn't afford a copper still. Although crude, it worked exceptionally well!

Bourbon only needs to be placed in a new oak container for a few seconds to be called Bourbon. Fresh from the still and unaged Bourbon is called a White Dog. Recently, many of the larger distillers have started packaging this harsh, clear grain spirit for sale.
