Decipher the Scotch Secret.

The Glenlivet distillery lies in the valley of the Livet river (hence the name) in Speyside. It was opened in 1824 by George Smith, who was the first man to be granted a license to distill in UK - after he ran an illegal and highly successful business for years. The distillery remained a family business until the 1970s when it was bought by Seagrams and sold to Pernod Ricard in 2001. The Glenlivet's blood is the pure water from Josie's Well and its birthplace is one of the fourteen stills of various sizes. Even Charles Dickens was surprised how good the Scotch was, as he sipped on the "rare old Glenlivet" in the smoky town of London. The rest is history.

Now, after three clandestine releases (Alpha, Cipher and Code), the Scotch powerhouse released another mysterious expression called Enigma. It comes in an opaque black bottle with no information about the Spirit inside. Master Distiller Alan Winchester decided to give the hardcore Scotch-heads something challenging - and delicious. Does the corn aroma mean it was aged in barrels that used to hold Canadian Whisky? Maybe there's a whiff of Madeira. Or is it Cognac? To be frank, we wouldn't tell you more about this Whisky even if we knew. Become a Scotch sleuth and figure it out. Cheers!
