A beautiful German-style pear Eau de Vie born in the heart of Chicago.
Charlie and Jenny Solberg are a father-daughter team who decided to embrace their passion for European-style fruit Eau de Vie. They opened the doors of their distillery and tasting room on Fulton Street in the heart of Chicago’s industrial neighborhood on November 1, 2013. All of the ingredients are sourced locally in and around their Great lakes location. And they do their best to stay green with all of their remaining pulp and peels professionally composted. Their core line up has expanded to include nineteen new and aged Brandies, Grappas, and Liqueurs.
Rhine Hall Pear Brandy is made from 100% Bartlett pears from Michigan. They chose Bartlett pears because they are very similar to Williams pears from Germany, yielding a fine, almost floral aroma. It takes between twenty and twenty-five pounds of pear mash to make a single bottle of Brandy. But the resulting Spirit is only lightly sweet and un-aged, with a sophisticated and refreshing palate.
