He was a lawyer, a record-setting swimmer, but most famously, he was a successful bootlegger who created one of the most intricate bootlegging operations of the Prohibition era. Today, George Remus Bourbons are owned by and produced in the historic Ross & Squibb Distillery.

Not Remus's Best

I have liked most other Remus bottles that I have tried. This was okay. It is mostly a hot and spicy rye flavor with generic sweetness to it. I don't mind sweet if it brings some complexity to the flavor, but this one didn't. I just don't get layers of flavor and that's what I have enjoyed with other Remus bourbons. Their single barrel is better than this one in complexity, smoothness, and flavor in my opinion.
