Worth the Hype

Out of all the Van Winkles, this is the first that reaches a new level and is worth the hype. Now, worth the price? That is for you to decide. Old rip 10 yr, Van Winkle 12 yr, and Pappy Van Winkle 15 could all mix in with a blind taste test and I bet you wouldn't choose them over some other $70 bottles. The 20 year is a whole new level of smoothness that barely even hints at a burn in the back of your palate. The flavors are complex and do fit well with the dark fruit description. Maybe go to a place where you can get a pour to decide if it is worth it to buy a bottle. I was more convinced it was worth it after trying a pour.
