Italy’s Amaro numero uno.

When it was founded in 1885 by Stanislao Cobianchi, the iconic Italian bitter Liqueur was known under the name Elisir Lungavita. It was an instant success and 11 years later, it was renamed as Amaro Montenegro to honor the marriage of Princess Elena of Montenegro and Prince Vittorio Emanuele III.

Crafted from a special blend of 40 botanicals that come from 4 different continents, the botanicals undergo 3 different types of extraction: boiling, maceration, and distillation. The carefully-selected mix includes coriander, artemisia, oregano, coriander, oranges, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon; all coming from the Mediterranean. The result of this process are 12 essential extracts that are further blended into 6 aromatic notes.

You’ve got the bitter and herbaceous note, the spicy and floral, the sweet and roasted, the fresh and balsamic, the fruity and sweet, and the warm and tropical. But wait, there’s a final secret note needed for this Amaro: Premio. The Master Distiller creates Premio far from potential spying eyes by micro-distilling 5 botanicals. It’s so potent that just one drop suffices to complete the recipe of Italy’s Amaro numero uno.
