Journeyman Distillery is housed in a 19th-century factory, literally making its way from producing corsets and buggy whips to pouring out some seriously delicious sips. Its founder, E.K. Warren, may have been a prohibitionist, but we won't hold it against him. After all, if he could taste the delicious Whiskey being produced in his old factory today, he might have a change of heart. Enter Bill Welter, a Scotch enthusiast who did some major Whiskey wanderlust-ing in Tasmania and then decided to take the plunge and start his own distillery in the old factory building. Today, the folks at Journeyman are keeping busy, and they take their commitment to quality seriously, running all their Spirits through the Midwest Organic Services Association to ensure that their organic grain comes from certified growers.
Remember that 1972 song by Looking Glass about Brandy stealing sailors from the sea with her eyes? Well, now Brandy's got a new liquid form that's just as captivating. Fine Girl Brandy starts off as Vidal Blanc grapes from the St. Julian Winery. When the grapes become wine, the Spirit undergoes a distillation process that concentrates all that mouth-watering flavor, adding up to its richness. Further aging in oak barrels imparts tannins, color, and complexity, culminating in a richly flavored Brandy that harmoniously blends the distinctive notes of oak and grapes.
