In this second volume, we’re bringing you an exciting parade of unique whiskeys from around the world that promise a spectacle of flavors you won’t soon forget.

Introducing Stranahan's Blue Peak Colorado Single Malt Whiskey, a dominant, smooth, and versatile player from the US of A. Named after a 13-thousand-foot peak in Aspen, it's as impressive as a well-executed alley-oop. Aged for 4 years in new American oak casks, then finished Solera-style, it'll make you say "Nothing but net!"

Next, Omar Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky from Taiwan. Crafted in Scotland-imported pot stills, this whisky is as unique as a trick shot. Aged in Kentucky-sourced bourbon casks, it's a delicious testament to Taiwan's rising star status in the world of whisk(e)y. And thanks to the tropical climate, this whisky ages faster than an aspiring professional athlete in their late 20s.

Last up, Compass Box Spice Tree—the comeback kid of our whiskey squad. After some stealthy huddles with barrel makers, this lavish player has returned with a renewed drive to win, making it the 2.0 version of its forbidden predecessor. Aged in custom American Oak casks with French Oak heads, it delivers a rich, intense malt with toasty accents that'll dunk your taste buds into awe. Brace yourself for unexpected grins, because this flavor slam dunk is so grand, it almost warrants another ban!

Enjoy the extraordinary show of flavors!

Smartass Corner:

  1. The whiskey market worldwide is projected to grow by 3.86% between 2024-2028, reaching a market volume of US$79B in 2028.

  2. The top five whiskey-producing countries are the United States, Scotland, Ireland, Japan, and Canada.

  3. Stranahan's, the first legal distillery in Colorado since Prohibition, pioneered the path for American single malt whiskey.

  4. A fire in George Stranahan's barn in 1994 led to an unexpected outcome. Jess Graber, a volunteer firefighter, helped extinguish the fire and discovered a shared love for whiskey with Stranahan. This ignited their venture into establishing the Stranahan’s distillery.

  5. Taiwan has two highly-regarded distilleries, Kavalan and Nantou. Kavalan, in particular, has received international acclaim for its single malt whiskey.

  6. Taiwan's subtropical climate plays an active role in the unique taste of its whiskies. The warm, humid weather accelerates maturation, enabling Taiwanese whiskey to mature up to three times faster than its Scottish or Irish counterparts. This rapid maturation contributes to a richer and more complex flavor profile, shaping Taiwan's distinctive portfolio of whiskies.

  7. In 2005, Compass Box was the bad boy of Scotch, using staves in finishing. A horror show, huh? Well, the Scotch Whisky Association thought so, banning it in 2006!

  8. John Glaser, the mastermind behind Compass Box, believes not all blends surpass their components. Thus, Compass Box will also release Single Malts that can stand on their own!
