A rich family tradition isn’t everything, but 20 generations worth of experience can’t hurt, non?

Since the late 13th century, (That’s literally since the Middle Ages, mind you.) the Frapin family has been settled in the town of Segonzac, right at the heart of the Cognac region in southwestern France. Originally Winegrowers, later distillers (Not an unusual career path even nowadays.), the Frapin family has been producing prestigious Cognacs in Fontpinot Castle for 20 generations.

The first to introduce a Multi Millésime expression, which is a blend of 3 vintages, the Frapins also own the largest single vineyard in the Grande Champagne – predominantly of Ugni Blanc grape variety. Now, for some name dropping: French Renaissance author François Rabelais was part of the family in the 16th century, hence the golden quill as the Frapin House’s logo, and in 1697, the Sun King a.k.a. Louis XIV granted nobility to the family.

With a history like that, you just know Frapin VSOP Cognac can’t be anything short of spectacular. And this 100% Grande Champagne, classified Premier Cru de Cognac, lives up to the hard-earned Frapin reputation: distilled over lees and aged in Limousin oak barrels on the estate, this is an incredibly elegant, refined and round Cognac. A harmonious palate, full of fruity orange notes, has brought this dram many-an-international-award. If we may, we suggest you sip it neat or, make a Feather in the Cap. A votre santé!
