Character Goatson

A very well-developed yet light Canadian Single Malt pearl.

The story of Glenora Distillery is a classic David and Goliath tale. You see, Glenora is an upstart youngster, founded in 1989 by Bruce Jardine. But as soon as the word “Glen” showed in their brand, the Scots weren’t that happy so they had quite a few disputes and legal battles upon their hands. Despite their legal battles, since then they have won a lot of awards, started selling internationally, and make a bloody good Canadian Single Malt Whisky on the Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia where Scottish heritage still thrives.

Glen Breton Rare 14 Year Old is a work of art. It was aged for almost 15 years and you can tell this is no youngster. The nose is complex with wild apple, heather, honey, and maple while the palate is well-developed yet light and smooth. The flavors of apples, chocolate, vanilla, a touch of toasty wood, and maple go down real easy. Character Dogson
The saviour from the North. After the Prohibition, Canada was there for its American friends with the only barrels of aged Whisky around, and they made a killing.
It is not listed on their website, but the distillery also produces a small line of specialty Whiskies and Rums under various labels.
Canadian Whisky was the best selling Liquor category in the US until as recently as 2010!
The Hiram Walker’s Distillery was one of the key suppliers during Prohibition, with Al Capone being one of their biggest customer. Records show Capone paid $7 for a case of Canadian Club and sold it in the US for $75.
