Corn Trooper United Craft Bourbon Reviews and Tasting Notes
Appearance / Color
Nose / Aroma / Smell
Corn Trooper exudes a powerful nose with notes of maple syrup, oak, vanilla, banana, and green olive.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
The aroma is underlined by the spicy character of cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, dark cherry, and apple peels, all translating perfectly to the palate. A sensory grand tour of America.
The finish is pleasantly long and spiced with rich warmth.

As for the Corn Trooper merch...well, I never received any.
SMOOOOTH !! This was a great idea to get a blend from differing sources.
Nice flavor in your mouth but it gives you a burn about half way down like you are getting heartburn. Nice attempt but you need to work on the finish for the price point. I classify bourbons as sippers or mixers. This is a mixer.
My favorite bourbon to date, you nailed it Flaviar! Spices, Oak! Bananas, and a wash of Maple Syrup. Can I get another bottle please? Already purchased 3
It was good but had a more of a bit than i prefer.
Corn Trooper has a great flavor with a little giddy up. Well done Flavair
Bananas Foster anyone, this was just fantastic.
This is an exceptional whisky
Enjoyed it very much. Nice addition to the home bar.
Enjoyed it very much. Nice addition to my home bar.
Great job Flaviar! This is my favorite bourbon to date. Love the notes of caramel and spices.. not too sweet and very savory the way a good bourbon should be. Have purchased three bottles to date. Awesome backstory and a exclusive bourbon. Looking forward to your next creation
A little sweet but finishes smooth. Fantastic balance.
New to whiskey tasting. Smooth with a bit of spice.
I like this bourbon. I tried a taste test against two other favorites that I drink on a regular basis. Didn’t think this one would hold up but I actually picked it over both of my bourbon favorites. The favorites I’m talking about cost significantly less than this one and I’m not sure if the price warrants the difference in flavor. I think if it was 50 bucks or less I would be more inclined to buy it.
Probably one of my all time favorites. My Fiancé, who is not a whiskey drinker, even likes it. This. Is. Good!
Expectations were very high and the drink was good but not great.
it was a bit harsher than I would’ve liked. Sorry but I just feel as though it’s overpriced foe the quality. I would not recommend this one.
Nice work, Flaviar! This is a really quality blend. Bright and flavorful. Nose is honey, very light oak, corn. Palate is bright maple, spice, more light honey. The only negative about this bottle is the finish, really. It's almost non-existent. You're left with the feeling of a light alcohol burn and that's about it. Delicious bourbon otherwise. You can really taste the richness of the aged bourbons and the balance that the younger bourbons bring to the blend. Would buy again.
Better than expected. A nice smooth taste with a sweet flavor that is very shareable.
It was OK, I was expecting more.
I normally prefer and drink higher proof bourbons, but I find this blend absolutely delicious. Sweet and soft that's big on maple with a little bit of spice. A little warmth. Finish is short-to-medium. Immediately bought a second bottle.
Amazing flavor profile.
One of my absolute favorites! I love the blend of flavors!
This is a good sipping whiskey that has a lil heat to it. I prefer it on the rocks.
Glad I tried it but I won't be buying it again.
I won't pour it out, though.
It might be a good change of pace every once in a while but it is too harsh for my taste.
Excellent pour. Will be buying another bottle ASAP
Enjoyed the first bottle sharing with my son...Keeping the second bottle to myself. We liked it neat.
Good flavor. Alcohol content a little high for me.
Not bad. I didn’t know what to expect. Good to sip with a couple of cubes in it.
One of my favorites so far. I've had it neat but I prefer it with an ice spear for me.
This one isn't for me. I have tried it neat, over ice, and as a mixer in a Manhattan. It starts out fairly fine but then I get an alcohol blast that lingers for a long time. I need another sip to cool it off but, bang, all over again. Others liked it at a bourbon switch party.
Very smooth, enjoyed it neat
A decent whiskey. I prefer this one over ice.
This is a good whiskey, but somehow doesn't live up to the parts. Its sweet and full of roasted corn - no surprise! - and there's some caramel/maple syrup. Its a solid sipper, but at the price, it's just good. I love seeing people trying new things and this seems like a good idea more than a great whiskey.
Very easy drinking. Smooth and flavorful.
Excellent whiskey! Purchased another bottle!
Very smooth for such a high alcohol content. Maple syrup rounded spicy edges and nice nose. Was great over ice and in a whiskey sour (made with maple syrup).
Great taste, smooth finish and pleasant aftertaste!! Loved this whiskey!!
It’s quite unique - even for a high octane blend. The maple syrup combined with the spicy make for a great sipper. Nice job Flaviar!
I wasn't sure about this at first, as I never cared for spicy liqour. The more I drink this, the more I really am enjoying it. Toasted caramel, with a very strong kick of spice. I have never been a big bourbon fan. This bottle could change me. Pleasantly surprised.
Usually drink Wild Turkey 101 and decided to try Corn Trooper due to my love of WT101. At first sip, I fell in love. The level of smoothness is unreal. It is a great sipping whiskey and a great mixer (but I prefer to just sip on it). The sticker and pin were a cool addition!
This is a great bourbon! The flavor is so good that the bottle is dangerous! It is perfect for this very hard political time and the covid-19 problems we now have.
One of the smoothest best tasting bourbons I’ve ever had in my entire life!
One word: GREAT !!
I am blown away by this bourbon. I have to tell you that I was not expecting this much from this bottle. I typically like things on the spicy side, which is why I love Ryes, but this is great. I love the cinnamon notes. I drink mine neat and I can't get enough of it .
Not exactly what I was expecting. Just a little too much bite for me. I tried it neat, then a few drops of water then an ice cube. None provided a tolerable solution. Will use it as a mixer but can't drink it neat.
Sweet caramel flavor and definitely taste the oak. Complex but easy drinking. I’m definitely liking this bourbon.
Better than most bourbons, good on the rocks.
Easy drinking. Complex profile.
Bright sweet nose, almost like rye
Spiced palate, I can taste the maple note
full-bodied finish, almost smoky
Glorious. Perfect for fall/winter.
I’m comparing this to a Willet. I’m loving the flavor, the feel, the kick. Excellent!
Once again a great bottle! The warmth and hints of spice make this a great drink for cool nights. Flavors seem to be muddled and a bit difficult to taste without ice.
Nice bourbon bite, my biggest issue is it arrived rolling around freely in the delivery box. The shipping material was not secured well enough to keep it free opening.
Excellent flavor no bitterness
Very mild, but not overly sweet or oaky. A nice balance between the two (think Angel's Envy). Very nice neat, not as good with ice.
This is a great blend of others. I thought it was a unique flavor, a good taste, sippin' style neat or with ice, then I read it was a concentrated effort of the best blends in the bottle. I will definitely enjoy the rest of the bottle with others or solo, and it's on the list to buy again. Thanks, Flaviar
Decent enough, but rather mild. Could've used an extra year or two in the barrel.
I rather enjoyed this bottle. So far of all the bourbon I have tasted it ranks very high just a few would I put above it. I will buy again
Once the maple subsides this is a fantastic drink. Too maple-y to begin with but as it opens up it’s a very smooth and flavorful drink. Drink neat but let it open up.
I wanted so much to really like this bourbon. Tried neat. The nose was stinging. The flavor and finish not pleasant. On the rocks drinkable but not to my taste. Sorry guys this is a pass for me.
Very smooth, lots of maple and nutty flavor
Spicier than most Bourbons...in a good way. Really liked it and would but it again.
Sounds like “STORM TROOPER”.
I prefer it neat. Good smooth flavor
This is one amazing dram!! The blend is perfect. I'll probably pick up a second bottle before its gone. Pleasantly surprised.
This is mind blowing. I want a constant supply
Full, butterscotch, toffee, chocolate, a warm, cozy ride. Just a sip goes a long way. Nursed this with crushed ice and had a smooth glidepath.
Very good on Ice, Smooth
Best Corn I've had since I left the hills. Smooth and flavorful. Would go great in a Little Brown Jug.
For me is just a little harsh.
Tried it neat first, as I do all spirits, and it was thoroughly enjoyable... deep, rich, complex, and just damn good. Made a whiskey sour with it and it was fantastic, that sweet corn foundation with plenty of proof and just a touch of bite to stand out and provide balance with the tangy lemon juice and sweet simple syrup.
Very nice Bourbon. Not the high alcohol burn I was expecting. Nose was not overpowering. Nice sweetness on the palate along with oaky notes with a hint of dark chocolate on the finish. More sweet note on the nose with a drop of water. Finish was better neat. Well done Flaviar..,
Excellent, much better than the average bars top shelf.
Great job on this. I was super intrigued when I saw the maple syrup flavor profile, and this nailed it. Good heat without being overpowered and I really enjoyed the flavor and long maple syrup finish too.
Bravo. Very impressed. Wonderful nose of honey and corn, with a palate that is sweet honey up front but explodes into spice on the mid-palate. The finish is unexpectedly short (why it's 9 stars not 10) but has a nice lingering heat and begs you take another sip to get all those delicious flavors back. This may have a very quick "evaporation" rate and necessitate ordering another bottle soon.
Oh, evaporation and angels :) Cheers!
Really well done. I was skeptical of a 7-bourbon blend, but the results speak for themselves. Delicious and easy drinking bourbon. Sweet, a little spice and warmth, and smooth. Don't love the name, but happy to drink it.
Really smooth and easy to drink neat.
Very much enjoyed this bourbon blend...reminded me a little of one my favorites, Weller's antique 107. Would buy again.
Very solid bourbon. It has a nice amount of heat that I enjoyed even with this being a little higher proof than I normally go for. But if you add just a drop of water it cools off that heat just enough to bring out a little more sweetness. You can't go wrong with Corn Trooper if you love a good bourbon.
Perfect for the fall
Great taste, smooth finish. Just a hint of heat, nice color, and overall fantastic bourbon!
Now we're talking. Great nose, and a super finish. The beautiful color tells the story. Definitely notice the oak tones. Glad I bought two!
This is one of the best Bourbons I have ever tried. I bought it with the intention for rare occasions and celebration. I find it hard not to at least have a glass every day since I purchased. Love the story and background behind this bottle
It has just the right amount of heat. The oak flavor is prominent, tasting like it was aged in barrels made from freshly cut wood. With a bit of water or on ice it has a deep almost chocolate flavor. I enjoyed it but did find myself wishing it had a tad bit more sweetness. If you're a bourbon lover worth a try.
Fantastic blend. Corn right up front with a sweet initial taste, followed by a slow, relaxing aftertaste.
