A limited-edition Madeira-finished Rye that matured by listening to Metallica.

You know how plants are supposed to flourish more if you play them Mozart? Now imagine aging your Whiskey with music. What would you play? Metallica, of course. And that is what's really happening now: the original gangsters of metal just gave us their brand-new Whiskey called Blackened American Whiskey. So metal, right? Founded with the late Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, the Whiskey is tucked away next to subwoofers that blast low-frequency sound waves to enhance the molecules. It might sound like just another celebrity gimmick, but the studies and critics are both saying there is something to this music treatment. We’re no scientists, but we can confirm the Whiskey is delicious AF .

A limited-edition release in the Masters of Whiskey Series, Blackened X Willett Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is a really unique collaboration between Master Distiller & Blender Rob Dietrich from Sweet Amber Distilling Co. and Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen of Willett Distillery from Bardstown, Kentucky. Drew and Rob tasted and selected barrels from Willet's Family Estate Selection and finished the liquid in Madeira casks – this is where the Black Noise sonic-enhancement process comes in. The Metallica playlist was selected by Drew and Rob with Lars Ulrich, Metallica cofounder and drummer, sequencing the songs. The final result is bottled at cask strength of 54.8% ABV and the complex palate is full of earthy and sweet tones – it's the perfect balance between dry, oaky, and sweet.

Rye - think of it as Bourbon's edgier cousin. It’s known for what many call a spicy or fruity flavor. Rye (distilled from at least 51% Rye) is not on the sweet side and tends to have a spicier body. That’s why the character of a cocktail made from Rye, instead of Bourbon, is drier.
Rye sparked the first revolution after the American Independence. It was called the Whiskey Rebellion, and it arose when the government tried to tax Whiskey and enforce the taxation on distillers. The lesson here? Don't mess with a Whiskey drinker's dram.
