All about Alexander Murray

Alexander Murray & Co does not produce Whisky from its raw ingredients – they leave that to the craft distillers who know their business. They are a merchant and independent bottler based in California, sourcing the best Scotch distilleries have to offer – single malt, single cask or blended.

The founder & CEO Steve Lipp is a Scotsman who used to work on oil rigs but changed career after escaping death twice. He named the company after his great-uncle. Steve spent his summers on the farm of his uncle Alexander who gave him the first taste of Whisky. And according to Steve, Lipp is not really a Scotch surname, so Alexander Murray sounded much cooler.

The company is based in Calabasas, California, near Jennifer Lopez and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. They have been working with trade customers all over the States in developing and launching private label Whisky brands, such as Trader Joe’s, Costco, and Walmart, as well as launching Alexander Murray own brand expressions.
