Williams Gin is made by the Chase family; a potato farming family who also produce "Tyrrell's Crisps" and Chase Vodka. The initial process for producing Vodka and Gin is fairly similar, and the Chase family set about producing a Gin from their potato Vodka.

In fact, the company’s GB Gin, Single Estate Gin and Seville Orange Gin are all made from potato Vodka as a base Spirit. The Elegant Gin, however, is made from an apple based Spirit, using apples from the family orchard.

The potato base gives a creamier mouth feel, whereas the apple base has a more crisp feel. Williams GB Gin is made with juniper berries and buds, along with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, almond, cloves, coriander, cardamom, liquorice and lemon, which create a dry, zesty, spicy and warming Gin, which works well with a fresh ginger garnish.
