Straight Kentucky Bourbon in its purest form.
Woodford Reserve Distillery is just one of those historic sites that has had its destiny written in the stars. Not to be cheesy, but fine Bourbon was first made at the Kentucky distillery in 1812! With a history like that, you probably won't be making Beer there. Today, one of the oldest and smallest Bourbon distilleries in Kentucky gets with the times – they craft their own barrels, they even have their own cooperage, plus they care about the environment as more than 98% of waste material gets recycled while 10 acres of land are dedicated to native grass restoration!
Every year, the wizards at Woodford Reserve a.k.a. Master Distillers Chris Morris and Elizabeth McCall release a limited-edition batch proof expression. In 2021, the dram was bottled in a new design at 128.3 proof. Wowza! The mash bill and process are the same as for their Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, which essentially means you get to experience their flagship offering at its purest form. At such high proof, the depth of that signature Woodford flavor is, well, just beyond. Expect a palate with rich raisin and brown sugar notes galore but it never gets to be too much as it's immediately balanced by spicy leather, rich oak, and cedar wood notes. We believe everyone should experience Bourbon in its purest form at least once and this expression is IT.
