Located in Ketchum, Idaho, the Warfield Brewery & Distillery exudes an illustrious background and vibrant local flavor that’s impossible to miss. The building has been a beloved fixture in the Werry family since ’36 and once housed the renowned Roosevelt and Slavey establishments. Now, it’s the brainchild of two inventive homebrewing buddies, Ben Bradley and Alex Buck, who’ve turned the space into a lively gastropub and an unforgettable distillery. The latter is exceptional, boasting three stunning copper pot stills, one from Washington State and two from Scotland. Warfield’s latest Gin creation shows that imagination and creative thinking know no boundaries. Introducing their Organic Barrel Aged Gin—a particular Spirit made by two Whiskey lovers, it was left to kick back and relax for half a year in the comfort of ex-Bourbon barrels crafted from opulent white oak. After the barrel retreat comes to a close, it is delicately poured out, retaining the wild sage and Douglas Fir botanicals straight off the Northern Rockies. The present result? A gorgeous amber liquid that clocks in at 88 proof, enriched with vanilla, orange and baking spice flavors, representing a new way to revitalize your Old Fashioned or Gin and Tonic.
